Cadet Training Program The
Human Resources Department at Secunda Marine Services (Secunda) offers
opportunities to cadets from various nautical institutes to complete their
work terms on board Secunda vessels. Consideration is given to both navigation
and engine room cadets. Berths are available on vessels operating in the
offshore, cable laying and container/cargo sectors of the marine industry. In
order for an individual to secure a berth on a Secunda vessel, a strong
resumé and the following mandatory training is required:
Cadet
positions within Secunda are unpaid positions. Remuneration for cadets
will be in the form of berth on board the vessel, three meals per day,
valid
sea time and personal protective equipment. The
Cadet Training Program is a key element of the Human Resources Department
for selection and recruitment processes. Secunda is a company that has
been built by promoting from within and offering new employees entry-level
positions. Ship's officers evaluate cadets participating in this program.
These evaluations are submitted to the Human Resources Department. Those
cadets who receive good evaluations and prove themselves to be hard working,
dependable and loyal are given hiring preference when entry level paid
positions become available. If
you are interested in serving as a Cadet in the Secunda Fleet, submit
a resume
to Secunda's Human Resources Department. Or, if you are attending a recognized
Nautical or Marine Institute, contact your placement officer who will
contact Secunda's Human Resources Department on your behalf. |
